Its is snow season in Hachimantai! Strong with three ski resorts that are at a driving distance from each other, snow activities are a popular attraction in Hachimantai. The season has opened on the 17th for Appi and the 24th for Hachimantai Resort. With its 850 acres of skiable terrain, APPI is one of the largest ski resorts in Japan, including 21 runs serviced by 5 lifts and 1 gondola. In addition, Appi is also the World Ski Award winner of Japan’ s Best Ski Resort for 2022.
Hachimantai Resort has two ski resorts (Panorama and Shimokura). Panorama is a popular ski slope for families while Shimokura is popular for its non-compacted powder. It doesn’t get crowded, and the snow quality is at its best ever!
Between the three ski resorts they offer a wide variety of products and activities that the fun is 100% guaranteed!

Appi Kogen 30th "New Year's Eve Fireworks" will be the last this year, amid lack of sponsorship.
On New Year's Eve, about 800 fireworks will be launched at the Appi Kogen Ski Resort in Hachimantai City, in celebration of the new year.
Officials said that they wanted the audience to experience the power and excitement of what will be the last fireworks at Appi.
The Fireworks will start at 11:50 pm on New Year's Eve at the ski resort parking lot. First, 108 shots will be launched as a countdown for the New Year. After the countdown to 2023, an additional 700 fireballs will be shot, including the No. 10 ball Large Flower and Star Mine, that will illuminate the night sky with colors.
Appi organized its first New Year's Eve firework event in 1991. Appi will be unable to continue to organize this event in the future due to lack of funding.
